BREAKING: Robert Pattinson cast as Batman in Matt Reeves' "The Batman"

Today Variety confirmed that the actor set to replace Ben Affleck as the titular Caped Crusader in the 2021’s “The Batman” will be Robert Pattinson. Reeves’ film will not be in the established DCEU, but will be a reboot of the film franchise, with a younger and more detective focused approach.

Pattinson certainly fits the younger Batman idea; at 32 he is the youngest Batman performer in terms of the live action films. Most of the internet no doubt associates Pattinson with his role of Edward Cullen in Twilight, and as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. However Pattinson has proved he is a genuinely talented actor, and much like his co-star Kristen Stewart, is a heck of a lot better than those cracking jokes out Twilight all these years later, will admit.

“The Batman” is set to come out on June 25th 2021 if all goes as planned, as was announced when Ben Affleck officially left the project back at the end of January.
